If you are going through a dealer, the price for a used bike will always be higher then if buying from the owner.(This is obvious I know....) The lowest price on a bike that I can remember seeing from a dealer is $1,300.00 for a 1980 something with 20K on the odometer. I have a 1995 with under 10K. I was told by two different dealers what I should sell the bike for. (This was without any accessories). The price was higher then 1500.00. My trade in offer was also better then the NADA values. Also used prices may vary from region to region. If the Savage is the bike you want, keep looking. I ended up finding at least two when I did my search some time ago. If buying used, ask for any work receipts, check the tread wear, and look for the obvious signs of a dropped bike. Cosmetic damage, scratches etc. are normal wear and tear on most any vehicle.
With that said, 3800.00 for a new one is, in my opinion, a pretty good price. (Check on the cost of the 1st 600 mile checkup)
Good luck in your search!
